A workshop on “Pharm D – Global Perspectives” was conducted on 20th and 21st at Anantapur, A.P. It was a jointly coordinated by Dr. Y. Padmanabha Reddy, Principal of Raghavendra Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (RIPER) and Dr. M. S. Kannan, Medical Director, RDT Hospital.
Dr. S.S. Rao, Community Pharmacist, Canada, discussed about two important topics and interacted with students and staff with problem solving exercises for pharmacists. His presentations include “Pharm D Pharmacist in Canadian Community Pharmacy” and “Drug Interactions encountered by community pharmacists”. Dr. A.N. Nagappa, Professor of Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences had put forward his views on the “Need of Pharm D Professionals in Indian Community Pharmacies”. Dr. Hidayatulla Pathan, Surgeon of RDT Hospital shared his views on Clinical Adverse Drug Reactions. And Mr. Dixon Thomas, Associate Professor, RIPER, delivered a talk on “Job Opportunities of Pharm D Graduates in Clinical Research Organizations in India”. The principal of RIPER announced that the institution will continue its efforts to conduct such programs to empower Pharm D education in India.
