PCI gives Green Light to Stipend for Pharm.D Students(india) and also proposes an alternative
Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) Today(17th October 2013) released a circular regarding the Stipend for Pharm.D students during internship. The Official circular from the body stated the issue of demand for stipend for Pharm.D students was considered in the central council meeting conducted in July 2013 and presented with two choices which are as follows :
- The institution must collect only 50% of fee from the students of VI th year during internship period
- Pay stipend of Rs 5000/- per month during the period of VI th year (internship)
This particular circular is sent to Colleges and Universities conducting the Pharm.D course and which are suggested to choose between either of the above two choices.
The circular is timed well as more or less all the universities conducting Pharm.D (6yrs) are going to start internship in this month or next.It is however to be noted that many students who were pursuing the course were actively working for bringing out this reform from PCI.As we can see their attempts succeeded and the demand was finally bought up to PCI”s notice.we can see the course of action already.
Looks like PCI tried its best to make students and managements happy. Now it is to be seen how the college management’s are going to respond with this.we will try to update on any further info.
